Hybrid cloud is becoming popular these days which has both VMs as well as light weight containers. But networking between them is always a challenge as the orchestrator is different.
Ethernet VPN (EVPN) is the most preferred and used overlay technology that provides L2 and L3 connectivity of virtual networks over a physical underlay in data center (DC) now.

This abstract's proposal is to use EVPN to provide L2/L3 connectivity between Kubernetes Containers and Openstack VMs using OpenDayLight (ODL) SDN Controller. Containers in one DC can talk to other containers/VMs in the same as well as physically separated DC over public network using EVPN.
