Shamik Mishra is currently an Asst. Vice President,
Research and Innovation at Altran. He is a global
lead for the future of networks and compute at
Altran group research and innovation. Shamik
Mishra has over eighteen years of experience in
the Telecom and software industry, providing
engineering R&D services, frameworks and
solutions to telecom operators, network
equipment providers and software firms around
the world. As a global lead for R&I in Altran,
Shamik drives solutions and framework
development in virtualization, cloud native, edge
computing and carrier cloud platforms at a global
scale. Shamik has led development of few multiorganization
open source projects. He represents
Aricent in several industry forums including Linux
Foundation Edge where is a member of the
technical advisory council. He is a regular speaker
at industry and academic conferences like
OpenStack Summit, Edge Compute Congress to
name a few. He is a recognized thought leader
and is often covered by the industry media. His
team’s research interests are in the areas of 5G,
autonomous networks and intelligent
decentralized applications. Shamik has a
bachelor’s and a master’s degree from Indian
Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, India.
